William Bryant Park Complex
$1.8 Million Grant

The Moultrie Colquitt County Parks and Recreation Authority (MCCPRA) was awarded a $1.8 million grant by Governor Brian P. Kemp through the “Improving Neighborhood Outcomes in Disproportionately Impacted Communities” grant. This grant provides funding to improve recreational facilities in Qualified Census Tracts (QCT) across the state, which are defined as areas with a poverty rate of 25 percent or more.

William Bryant Park Complex
Mini-Pitch Now Open

The Moultrie-Colquitt County Parks and Recreation Authority, in partnership with the United Way of Colquitt County, is excited to announce the addition of a newly installed mini-pitch at William Bryant Park Complex! The mini-pitch is partially funded by the Atlanta United Community Fund (AUCF) through its GA 100 program, a mini-pitch build campaign, in partnership with Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC). The GA 100 program has a goal of constructing up to 100 mini-pitches in under-resourced communities across Georgia, ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America. The campaign's primary objective is to provide these communities with safe and accessible park facilities to enhance the quality of life and promote enthusiasm for soccer.

Tom White Linear Park Improvements

We are working to improve the bike trails with better pavement and updates throughout the trail. MCCPRA has recently been invited to the second level application process of the Georgia Recreational Trails Program Grant. If approved, this matching grant will provide installation of 11,125 linear ft. of granite trail to rehabilitate an existing portion between Lower Meigs and Hwy 319.

MCCPRA will work to:

- Seal and coat asphalt including 7.2 miles of trail and two parking lots

- Asphalt striping (multi-use trail marking)

- Landscaping which includes erosion control, irrigation, plants, fencing and guard rails

- ADA accessible water fountains that include bottle fillers, dog water bowl and hose bib

- Upgrade benches and trash cans

- Updated trail signage

Tire-Derived Products Grant

MCCPRA has been awarded a Tire-derived Products Grant which will provide swing and slide mats to all 10 public parks in Colquitt County as well as create a NEW play space at Main Street Park. This grant will increase safety and reduce maintenance at the public parks across the county.

Update 1: All slide and swing mats have been installed at the 10 public parks in Colquitt County.

Update 2: The TDP space has been created at Main Street Park and an all new swing bay has been opened which includes adaptive and inclusive swings as well as traditional swings.
